Pilates

Pilates is a fantastic form of exercise that helps you feel fitter, stronger and more flexible, and is recommended by most health professionals. Two of our Osteopaths are qualified Pilates teachers and run classes where you can be confident that the exercises are designed to be safe and effective.

GROUP CLASSES – Wednesday evenings  with Rachael at Camborne Wesley Hall, Chapel Street, Camborne TR14 8EG.  Beginners/Gentle Pilates 5.15pm – 6.15pm (suitable for those who have never done Pilates before, or who have a lower than average level of fitness, are recovering from injury, or who simply want a gentle class). Intermediate Pilates Classes 6.30pm – 7.30pm (aimed at those that have done some Pilates before and therefore have an understanding of the concept of centering the pelvis and engaging the core, and who have a moderate level of fitness or above).

Tuesday afternoon classes with Bethany at Camborne Community Centre, South Terrace TR14 8SU. Chair Based Pilates for those that find it difficult to get down on the floor 2.15pm-3.15pm, Beginners/Gentle 3.15pm-4.15pm, Intermediate 4.30pm-5.30pm.

Run in 6 week blocks, £36 for 6 weeks, payable in advance. Booking is  essential for all classes – you can phone the practice on 01209 612197 and pay over the phone, or book online – on the clinic page click ‘Group Appointments’ and then select the start date of the class you wish to attend. Next blocks start dates are Tuesday classes – July 9th 2024 or Wednesday classes – September 11th 2024.

We also have a Stretch class on Wednesdays at Camborne Wesley 5.45pm – 6.45pm during the summer break – a lovely blend of the best stretches from Pilates, yoga and clinical rehab exercises. Starting July 17th for 5 weeks, £25 for the block, booking essential.

ONE to ONE  Pilates in the clinic. Why have private sessions? Pilates emphasises good posture and working the body’s core muscles correctly in a very specific way – this can take a while to master and the undivided attention of private tuition can help greatly. In addition, it can be a fabulous compliment to treatment – an individual Pilates programme can be developed tailored to your specific needs to strengthen problem areas and prevent recurrences of back pain or other injuries. Sessions are £45, or £120 for a block of 3 (recommended) – session times 45 minutes (but you will do as much exercise as an hour group class!) We currently have a waiting list for one to one Pilates, but if you are interested please phone the clinic on 01209 612197 and we will do our best to fit you in as soon as possible.
